I've previously seen properties advertised for sale that featured one or more ornamental fish ponds (here's an example).
Anyway this got me thinking ... why not go a step further? Something not just visibly interesting, but involving moving towards self-sufficiency via breeding edible fish? And why not Flathead?
And there is a facility down in Narooma, NSW, that does just that. It's called Narooma Aquaculture.

Up at Airlie Beach, sea-water is potentially available adjacent to Mandalay Road. And then with access to a dam (or dams) of sufficient size, one might be able to provide a 'catch your own' recreational opportunity.
