Chesapeake themed accommodation concept

Updated: Sep 23

Accommodation is everywhere. But not like this*

Google on 'Homicide TV series' and step into Melbourne in the 1960's. Some of us can just 'step back'. The series was produced by Hector Crawford, who lived near us in Balwyn. And presumably because he lived nearby, we sometimes saw them filming in the area. Driving their Valiants along Mont Albert Road and such.

I remember going to his son's birthday party. It was the first time I had ever been driven in a Bentleigh. Or attended a kids birthday party with paid performers. Wild stuff at the time.

Yes, B&B staff wearing those hats and driving those cars might seem a bit incongruous in current day Airlie Beach, but then so too was the survivalist theme adopted by the creator of Chesapeake Estate (nee 'Parc Exclusif').

Yes, it does look a bit 'Blues Brothers', but imagine lots more Australian accent and character - pre-woke filtering. And lots less music.
